Co-operative Publications

One of the activities of CDS is to produce co-operative publications either specifically for clients or for public use. The following is a list of publications published by CDS over the past 5 years and a brief overview of each.
Australian Co-operative Glossary

In 2002, CDS published the Australian Co-operative Glossary, a dictionary of over 570 terms that are likely to be used in managing a co-operative. The glossary includes business, co-operative, financial, human resources, legal, meetings and membership terms. The Australian Co-operative Glossary provides directors and management with a quick and easy reference that will help improve their performance at board meetings. Email CDS to purchase a copy of this essential resource.

Co-operative Director's Handbook

In 2001, CDS published a Co-operative's Director's Handbook for participants of director training workshops conducted by CDS. The 60 page handbook gives co-operative directors an overview of their duties and responsibilities, and outlines strategies to reduce their liabilities and improve the performance of the board. Click here for the Table of Contents of the handbook.

Fuel Co-operatives in Victoria

In 2001, CDS was commissioned by the Victorian Government to prepare a report on fuel co-operatives in Victoria. The 24 page report contains an overview of the oil industry, information on co-operatives and other organisations that supply fuel to primary producers and other consumers, and assistance that local government could provide in promoting and facilitating fuel co-operatives within their municipalities. Starter Kit for a Treegrowers Co-operative

In 1999, Co-operative Development Services (CDS) published an 80 page Starter Kit for a Treegrowers Co-operative for Australian Forest Growers. The Starter Kit, researched and written by CDS member, Tony Gill, focuses primarily on the essentials of planning, establishing and operating a treegrowers co-operative in Australia.
